Professional Experience:  Asst. to the Director, Gibbes Art Gallery, (Now Gibbes Museum of Art) Charleston 1957-1960, part time GAG, ‘61-’65; free lance illustrator in Charleston ‘61-65; part time art teacher, Charleston, ‘59; free lance illustrator, Rock Hill ’70s; PR & advertising director of an independent bank ‘81-’85; owner, Gallery 5, ‘01-08, Rock Hill; Currently full time painter with oil as primary medium; residential and commercial art consultant; art competition juror and speaker.

Honors and Awards: Harriet Goode’s paintings of women have won top awards in juried competitions across the country since the mid ’80s. She has received The Medal of Honor in the Arts presented by Winthrop University, Career Achievement Award by Converse College, Volunteer of the Year Award by the Rock Hill Arts Council, Keepers of the Culture Award by the Museum of York County; Honorary BFA degree, Winthrop University.

National and Regional Publications: Featured artist in ArtSee Mazazine, Fall 2011; Featured alumna Converse College Magazine, Fall 2011; Featured twice on SC-ETV; paintings on the covers of “The Evening Reader Literary Journal, “Artifacts” published by the SC Arts Commission, 2 music CDs; Best of Watercolor: Painting Color published by Rockport; 4-page illustrated article in Watercolor Magic Magazine; featured in YC Magazine; featured in many local and regional magazine and newspaper stories.
